Questions about what societies value and how resources and opportunities can be equitably distributed are critical concerns, and the focus of today’s political debates.
In the 21st century, multiple intersecting challenges, such as environmental degradation, climate change, inequality, poverty, geopolitical instability and more are undermining our economies and our ability to flourish. There are clear crises surrounding the legitimacy of governments, and deep anxiety about corporate commitment to societal wellbeing. Today’s best efforts to repair the status quo are not working and it is clear that meeting any of these challenges will require new thinking and transformations.
Re-thinking prosperity is a new agenda for transformative change, based on new ways of working that foreground local knowledge and the capacities communities have for action, and allies them to the big drivers of social, economic and political change. Innovative ideas and solutions work together to create novel pathways for prosperity.
